Toxic Evolution

ÁlvaroSoler Arpa is an outstanding artist in the field of animal protection. He is good at using animal bones, plastic or trash materials to complete sculpture by splicing and combining. It is hoped that people will pay attention to pollution in this way. When he was young, he was afraid of blood and death. Later he slowly got to know it and became interested in bones. Then began to draw anatomical structures, keen on the aesthetic feeling of bones. He spent six to seven years collecting bones of various animals, including cattle skulls, antelope bones, deer bones, ostriches and horses. Collecting creative raw materials in antique shops and nature. He believed that the process of using bones as materials is also a process of exploring life and evolution. Nature was his main source of inspiration. The following will focus on his sculpture series, “Toxic Evolution”.
This work was made up of sheep skull, ostrich leg and pig tail bone. It combines electric wires, metal wires, garbage cans, plastic bags, plastic bottles and other garbage. The proportion of works is very large and the effect is spectacular. This three-headed animal, which is produced by the combination of bones and garbage of various animals, does not exist in the real world and may seem frightening and disturbing. The design idea of the work is that nature has certain garbage degradation ability, but when it exceeds its processing limit, no one knows whether nature has succumbed to environmental disasters. Whether animals produce real variation. This is a fictitious poisonous variation, and human beings play a poisonous nature in this scene. Criticizing human pollution behavior very intuitively.
As for his exhibition methods, his most famous exhibitions are all about placing his works in public spaces. For example, the subway station in Barcelona and the airport terminal. Locker (2010) states that no matter any organized exhibition, the works of the exhibition are designed for service. The exhibition needs to convey a general purpose and present a theme. Public art is an important way to show important issues to people. Art can make people enjoy the beauty, can make people feel excited, can also make people feel scared. The most important thing is that it should be meaningful and allow people to think and reflect. In this art exhibition, millions of tourists traveled through Barcelona to participate in this unusual art exhibition. Broaden the influence of the work. As soon as he shared bones and plastic, he made 14 large sculptures, emphasizing the impact of plastic on the ecosystem and human beings. Past tourists took photos and uploaded them to the Internet. They also reflected on themselves while watching the sculpture. In a subsequent interview, he said that he had always been concerned about environmental pollution. The purpose of creating these sculptures was not to make profits, but to convey information to people through the bones of these animals. In introducing the creation method, he mentioned that he can draw many plan drawings, and each of his drawings can also be converted into a three-dimensional form. This is also what designers should learn. They should not limit themselves to the form of their works, but think and create from various angles. Later he also co-founded other exhibitions with the Plastic Pollution Coalition, calling on people to reduce the use of plastic products and reduce the toxic effects on animals and the sea.
